hi eternity,
although there is a mail box link there, but in order for your messages to go in one inbox, you have to be a paying member, otherwise, you get a message from the site telling you you have a new message at penpalworld. They send you an id number along with the message. so what you have to do is copy the id number to the clipboard, log in to the site, enter on the link that says find penpals, where is is several options on how you want to search. choose the link that says search by id number, then when the page comes up, when you're in the edit field just paste the id number of the person in the edit field, tab to find penpal button, hit the spacebar and it finds the person.
when i signed up, I didn't know you had to pay to have your own in box.

Wonderwoman, great explanations. It's not difficult to follow and free members can contact up to 5 people EVERY DAY.Jenni, you spelled retarded wrong while talking bad about the site's grammar.

lol pbw, I think the originator of th esite originally came from another country, I can't remember what country, but I don't mind grammar as long as I can understand what's being said, lol.
Yeah, but the only thing that bothers me a little bit is the inability to block certain countries without purchasing a member ship. I see the ability to block certain countries as a protection rather than a luxury, but things are goinggood with it so far. before i joined penpalworld, i was getting totally disillkusioned with email, I mean except for messages from friends i've made on various chat programs, I don't even care much about it

Wonderwoman, I'm actually the founder and webmaster of PenPal World. Yes, I'm originally from Switzerland but I'm living in the US now for over 10 years.

I understand your concerns about free members being able to block countries and your point is taken. The same we could say for enforcing your pen pal settings so if you're looking for a female between 18 and 20 then only those members can reply to you.

The reason why I am having VIP members is to pay for PenPal World, which is not cheap to run. Without VIP's there would be no PenPal World anymore. I wish I could offer it all for free and have contacted various companies, like Coca Cola, to sponsor the side, but all declined.

Nevertheless, next to the VIP's, I am trying really hard to be fair to the free members. For a service like PenPal World to allow 5 free messages to be sent is very generous because bigger services don't allow contacting any of their members until you pay.

I hope you now understand a bit better how it works.

Hi ppw,
I didn't know yuou were the original creator. I hope you didn't take offense about my comment about blicking members from kiother countdries. I got carried away the first day i joined and wrote to 4 people all in a day, so had to wit to reply to someone else the next day, lol. I don't mind about only being able to respond to 5 messages a day, or write 5 messages a day, most of the people I end up corresponding to give me an email address so we end up writing to each other directly. I'm glad the site doesn't have any fancy graphics, being blind myself, and while fancy graphics may be pretty for sighted people to look at, seems th emore fancy the graphics, the harder it is for screen readers, or at least jaws in my case, has of trying to read what's there. It's very nice to meet you, and don't mind about the grammar thing, I make typos all the time, especially if i'm alkl involved in what i'm saying.take care and have a goodevening, ps, I had to delete evening, because i accidently put an extra v in it, lol.

why?

Wonderwoman, thank you for your message. Don't worry about your comments. It's good for me because I read and learn from them.

iternity, 5 people a day is a luxury concerning that it encludes a paid version too. Common business practice is that if a paid version is offered then a free version can only preview members but not reply to them. I thought to be nicer and allow 5 messages a day hoping that my free members would appreciate it.
